PRINT DESIGN: home

Print Design is a creative process involving a visual presentation that conveys a specific message to a targeted audience. And I truly enjoy that process. There is something exciting about each new project, how it will look and feel, and how it will emerge from layouts to finished product. Designing home décor catalogs was a passion of mine for many years. But designing for print can take many other forms including brochures, ads, postcards, wraps, inserts, posters and billboards. Here are just a small sampling of projects, each with their own unique personality.

Roles: budgeting, scheduling, concept, design, art direction, overall project coordination, branding, production.

In-Detail is a market showroom featuring multiple wholesale vendors. I designed /directed several market brochures and magazine ads showcasing their vendors. • Vintage Living is a home interiors retailer. I photographed images and created ads for DMagazine. • Wood County Electric Cooperative shown are 2 of 4 billboards created to honor their 75th anniversary. • Sincerely Yours was a direct mail home décor company, where I was Creative Director for 5 years. I was responsible for the overall coordination and production of all catalogs annually, totalling 9 million in distribution. I created / supervised budgets, schedules, design, copy, photography, pre-press and print production. Strategized with merchandising to create a unique marketing identity and initiated the creation of the company website. • Neiman Marcus as Senior Art Director, I worked on many different projects, including fashion and home furnishings catalogs. I was responsible for establishing project budgets, schedules, design, art direction, managing staff art directors, selection / supervision of freelance teams for projects, in studio and on location, plus I helped to develop location prospects both locally and abroad. The bed linen catalogs, shown here, were a combination of studio and location photography. • D-BAT Frisco shown are several flyers created using clip art and original illustration.
